STAMPEDES: Yoruba Indigenes Foundation mourns
CITIZENS COMPASS – The President of Yoruba Indigenes Foundation (YIF), Dr Olumide Aderibole, has expressed condolences to the affected families whose relations died in the stampedes of Oyo, Anambra and Federal Capital Territory (GCT).
He expressed shock over the incidens at the palliatives distribution centers.
In a press statement signed by Mr Sanjo Olawuyi, the Director of Communications and Strategies of Yoruba Indigenes Foundation. The YIF President said “at this juncture, all hands must be on dock, to put a permanent end, to the repeated stampedes, at the palliative distribution centers accros the nation.”
Relevant government agencies must put appropriate regulations in place that end the menace.
He said intending palliative providers or organizations must secure permits from relevant government agencies.
“The engaged crowd control personnels, for palliatives distribution must be the serious minded. They should not be crowd control personnels, that will be unnecessarily busy with frivolities.”
