Council Chairman, Sesan Daini presents budget for 2025 Fiscal Year
…says electoral promises fulfilled above 80%
…Legislative leader promises transparency, accountability

CITIZENS COMPASS – The Council Chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (IBLCDA), Ikorodu Division in Lagos State, Olusesan Mayokun Daini popularly known as Builder Sesan Daini, on Friday, presented a proposed budget titled “Budget of accomplishment” for Year 2025, to the Legislative arm of the Council for approval.
The estimated budget of N3,500,000, 950.50k (Three Billion, Five Hundred Million, Nine Hundred and Fifty Naira, Fifty Kobo only), was presented at Pa Olorunfunmi Basorun Legislative Building of the Council Secretariat.
During the presentation, Daini appreciated Almighty God for giving him the privilege to witness what he described as, “the last budget presentation in the lifetime of this administration” to the great chamber.
He said the budget was a promise fulfilled to the people of Igbogbo-Baiyeku.
According to him, his administration has fulfilled above 80 per cent of its electoral promises.
The council boss noted that the budget represents the vision, plan and the financial strategy of his administration which would round off its two terms in 2025.
He said, “I give thanks to God Almighty and to all of you for making this happen because it wouldn’t have been a reality without you all.
“Today’s budget is called a budget of accomplishment, promise fulfilled, ast we have kept to our first and second term promises.
“At the assessment of this budget, we have performed and achieved our electoral promises above 80 per cent
“That is why I can stand before you to present a budget of accomplishment, to say thank you Lord for helping us to accomplish.
“To the Legislature arm, executive members, the management team of IBLCDA, and the good people of our community, it is our pleasure to stand before you and present a proposed budget for the Fiscal Year 2025.
“This budget represents the vision, plan and the financial strategy of our government, one that is structured to bring life to our people, hoping that it would pave the way for long term and prosperity.
“The policy document that I am presenting today is a reflection of hard work, resilience, team work and accomplishment.
“Also, a collective responsibility towards the people that we serve and represent.
He highlight the budget as follows:
“The budget size is N2,950,000,000. The budget performance is at 77.34 per cent on Recurrent while 32.1 per cent on Capital.
“The revenue performance at Federal allocation is at 77 per cent while IGR is 67 per cent and state coordinated is 123. 7 per cent.
“On this note, I am presenting the sum of N3,500,000, 950.50k (Three Billion, Five Hundred Million, Nine Hundred and Fifty Naira, Fifty Kobo Only.
We have 66% Recurrent and 34% Capital.
Recurrent: N2,310,000, 627.33k
Capital: N1,190,000,323.17.
It is with my utmost belief that the Year 2025 proposed budget meets various interests and communicates the direction presented by various stakeholders’ meeting held on 31st October,2024.”

Budget will transform lives–Alimi
In his acceptance speech, the Leader of the 5th Legislative Council of IBLCDA, Hon.Nurudeen Alowonle, expressed delight at the presentation promising to monitor and ensure transparency in the implementation of the budget.
He appreciated his colleagues for their dedication so far.
“It is with great pleasure that I stand before you to formally accept the 2025 budget presentation of the executive council of IBLCDA led by our dynamic Builder Olusesan Mayokun Daini.
“Today marks a defining moment in our governance where collaboration, unity and collective responsibility shine at the cornerstone of our administration
“This budget is not just a financial document but a reflection of our shared vision, commitment and dedication to the progress and welfare of our people.
“This is a budget for the people: One that priotise infrastructure development, education, welfare and social development.
“These are the key sectors that will shape the future of IBLCDA.
“It is a budget that is not just about figures, but about lives that will be transformed, communities that will be empowered and opportunities that will be created.
“As we move forward with the implementation of this budget, I assure the people of IBLCDA that the legislative arm will continue to uphold its duty to ensure transparency, accountability and prudent management of resources.
“We will work closely with the executive arm to ensure every Kobo allocated is spent judiciously on projects that will project the quality of lives of our people.”
In attendance were the former Secretary to Lagos State Government, Pa Reuben Olorunfunmi Basorun and chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in IBLCDA.
