Lady in soup for assaulting FRSC official in Lagos
CITIZENS COMPASS – A lady, Miss Monalisa Osayi, has been apprehended for allegedly assaulting an official of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the Lekki area of Lagos State.
She was apprehended and handed over to the Police for onward prosecution and arraignment.
The Lagos State Sector of the FRSC disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.
Route Commander Elizabeth O. Jayeola, Lagos Sector Public Enlightenment Officer, FRSC, who signed the statement said, ‘
“The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) RS2.19 Lekki Unit Command has announced the re-arrest of Miss Monalisa Osayi, who assaulted RMA-II Sayidi Habeeb Ndaman during patrol operations on 7th December 2024. The re-arrest occurred on Sunday, 15th December 2024, at approximately 4:05 PM and was executed by the Unit Commander, RS2.19 Lekki Unit Command. Miss Osayi has since been handed over to the Ajah Divisional Police Headquarters.
“This breakthrough followed a week of diligent efforts, including multiple calls and conversations led by the Unit Commander to ensure her cooperation and accountability. Despite challenges in tracking the offender, the Unit Commander’s persistence and strategic approach proved instrumental in securing her re-arrest.
“All arrangements have been finalized for her arraignment in court on Monday, 16th December 2024. Details of the court proceedings will be shared in due course, and media representatives are invited to attend and follow the developments.
“The FRSC reiterates its commitment to upholding the law and protecting its personnel. It also urges the public to cooperate with the Corps in ensuring safety and civility on Nigeria’s roads. Assault on FRSC personnel will not be tolerated, and appropriate legal actions will always be pursued against offenders.”
