Adebutu chairs PPROs’ conference as Oborevwori, IGP Egbetokun, Ogunsan grace occasion

CITIZENS COMPASS –The 2024 Annual Conference of the Public Relations Officers and communication experts of the Nigeria Police Force across the federation, National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), can report.

The conference will be held in Asaba, Delta State from Monday 18th to Friday 22nd November 2024 with an opening ceremony at the Unity Hall of the Delta State Government House while the workshop will be held at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Asaba, Delta State.

The conference will enjoy the distinguished Chairmanship of business mogul and philanthropist, the Odole Oodua of the Source, Chief Kessington Adebukunola Adebutu.

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori ,will be the Special Guest of Honour, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun will be the Chief Host of the Conference, and the Force Public Relations Officer, FPRO, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi will be the convener of the conference.

The keynote speeches will be delivered by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Hon. Mohammed Idris Malagi and the CEO of MTN Nigeria, Mr. Karl Toriola.

Also expected to be in attendance is the Board Member of Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) and Chairman of POCACOV, Lagos State, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan.

The 2024 Annual Conference of the Nigeria Police Force PROs and Communication experts themed: ‘ Strengthening the Nigeria Police Force Oversight and Accountability’ is a milestone effort to train, retrain, and get the PROs across national, zonal, states, and other levels of the Police up to speed about the global best practices in the field of Public Relations, information management, and communication technology.

It will also be an opportunity for the Force to evaluate its performance in public relations and management. While misinformation and disinformation pervades the air concerning the Nigeria Police Force as Nigeria’s no. 1 security agency and Nigeria as a country, it is very important to ensure that those involved in the day-to-day administration of information and knowledge sharing in the Force are trained in media literacy and critical thinking, social media engagement and management, confidence building and accountability, management of diversity of opinions and perspectives, while sharing the success stories of the Force.

The conference will also enable the PROs and communication experts to build camaraderie and collaboration while they relax and unwind in an atmosphere of comfort and calm.
