CITIZENS COMPASS–A cart pusher in Lagos has tragically lost his life to an accident involving a commercial bus and construction crane around Doprmu area of the State.
The tragic accident occurred on Thursday afternoon along Union Road, by Cement Bus Stop.
The commercial LT bus with number plate, EPE 474 YJ, was said to have lost control due to excessive speeding and collided with a construction crane positioned at the roadside.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) Officers were said to have swiftly responded to the accident, coordinating emergency efforts and securing the area.
Confirming the accident, Spokesperson for the Agency, Adebayo Taofik, said, “The impact of the crash led to the immediate fatality of a roadside wheelbarrow pusher, whose body was later handed over to security men from Afonja Police Station along with the deceased, the severely damaged LT bus was also transferred to the police for further examination.
“Our thoughts and condolences go out to the family of the deceased, and we urge motorists to always prioritize safety by adhering to speed limits and maintaining control of their vehicles to avoid preventable tragedies”.
