Yoruba Indigenes Foundation hails Nigeria at 64

 

CITIZENS COMPASS– The Yoruba Indigenes Foundation (YIF), on Monday, felicitated with Nigerians on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of Nigeria.

The Yoruba Group disclosed this through the anniversary message by its president, Olumide, Aderibole, Ph.D.

The message read, “Every 1st day of October is always special. Because it commemorates the official day of Nigeria’s independence from British rule.

“Indeed, it is a day of reflective thinking on the past and the current state of affairs of the nation.

“Likewise, it is a special day that every Nigerian at home and diaspora usually brainstorm on the array of ways, for our fathers’ land to harness her full potentials.

“Despite the current economic challenge, which happens to be global in outlook. Nigeria as a nation has all reasons to celebrate her peaceful co-existence.

“Despite the challenges currently facing the nation, she has a catalogue of uniqueness and excellence mostly interms of creativity, tourism, sporting, educational, technological and cultural.

“Pragmatically, the economic contributions of Nigeria as a nation, in the global community cannot be underestimated. In the Africa financial sector, Nigeria is at the forefront. In the agricultural sector, Nigeria is one of the leading producers of sorghum and cassava in the world. In the oil and gas sector, Nigeria has an abundant reserve of natural gas as well as fintech, e-commerce and software development sectors.

“Despite the daunting challenges, the Yoruba Indigenes Foundation believes that Nigeria will move forward.
