Police nab suspected Aiye Confraternity members
CITIZENS COMPASS–The Ogun State Police Command has apprehended four suspected members of the Aye Confraternity for terrorizing residents of Ijoko, Sango-Ota, and the environs.
Spokesperson for the Police Command, Omolola Odutola, disclosed this on Thursday.
She gave the suspects names as; Olanide Balogun, Olamilekan Oyedele, Adeolu Olayinka, and Abdulganiyu Azeez.
The Police Spokesperson said they were arrested on Wednesday at about 3:00 p.m.
Odutola revealed that the suspects’ modus operandi involved breaking car windows and attacking innocent road users during traffic jams. Following a tip-off, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Sango-Ota led a team to raid the location, resulting in the suspects’ apprehension.
The suspects initially scattered upon seeing the police operatives, but the DPO pursued and caught one of them, leading to the subsequent arrest of the others with the help of the initial suspect.
The suspects will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
