CITIZENS COMPASS–The mother of a six-year-old daughter has bagged 17 years jail term for allegedly drugging the girl and allowing her lover to attempt rape on her.
The mother had claimed she set her six-year-old daughter up to keep her 43-year-old man happy and gain penetration.
However, a jury at Truro Crown Court decided it did not believe her lies before the woman was sentenced to 17 years imprisonment for the attempted rape on her six-year-old daughter.
The drug was said to have made the girl sleepy to allow the 43-year-old man gain penetration.
Among the tactics adopted by the mother was by sending provocative messages with the six-year-old daughter’s picture to the man.
She was said to have sent the man intimate photos of the six-year-old daughter as ‘a Christmas present’ days before the r@pe was supposed to take place.
However, forensic tests revealed that the girl was drugged but a medical examination revealed she had not been raped.
The court was said to have convicted both defendants of conspiracy to rape a minor and assault her by penetration.
The judge stressed how serious the crime was and how the mother had betrayed her role as a parent.
“The actions of the mother were not only a gross violation of trust but also an egregious abuse of her parental responsibilities.”
The trail was said to have begun in May.
