20 year-old boy abduct, gang-rape 14 year-old
CITIZENS COMPASS–The Egi Divisional Police headquarters in Obite, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area(ONELGA) of Rivers State, has arrested a suspected rapist who allegedly abducted and gan-raped a 14-year-old girl.
They were simply identified as 20 year-old Honest and Okwukwe.
Both were said to have allegedly abducted and gang raped a 14-year- old girl (name windshield),in Erima community.
A community source informed that the siblings abducted and gang-raped the 14-year-old girl girl last Sunday while she was walking on a lonely path to her brother’s house.
The second-in-command of ONELGA Security Planning and Advisory Committee ( OSPAC), Egi Command, ONELGA, Onuigba Chinonye Aboy from Erima community in an interview with journalists said: “I was on patrol with some of my boys when we met one woman crying that since on Sunday evening (last Sunday) that her 14 year old girl is missing till that Monday afternoon (last Monday).
“I now asked the woman which area, she now directed us.We now begin investigation.Through some good neighbours too, we try to find out where the little girl is.
“When we went into the place, we saw two brothers, senior and junior raping the little girl of 14 year old. On the process of trying to arrest them, the senior one try to prove stubborn to fight us.
“As we were dragging him, by then, the junior one had run away. We now apprehended the senior one and handed over to Egi, Police Division in Obite on Monday in the evening time.
“My advice to other criminals that want to behave this way, is that we will also send them to the same place we send this person if they don’t want to change.
“If they change, the community will contain us and them.But, if they don’t want to change, this community and Egi entirely will not contain the OSPAC and the criminals.
Confirming the incident, spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, said that one of the the suspects has been arrested while the Commissioner of Police in Rivers State,CP Olatunji Disu, has directed that the suspect as well as the case file be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) Port Harcourt and mandated the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) to ensure the arrest of the fleeing suspect.
He added that all perpetrators of crime must face consequence of their action.
It was gathered that the suspect has been transferred to SCIID.
