Suspected assassins kill monarch’s son in Lagos

…Body deposited for autopsy 

 

CITIZENS COMPASS–Palpable fears pavade the Ajiran community, Agungi, Lekki area of Lagos State, on Monday as suspected assassins killed Demola Akinloye, the first son of the Ojomu of Ajiran land, Tijani Akinloye.

The tragic incident occurred along Chevron Drive, near a popular supermarket.

The incident led to tension within the community.

Reasons for the killing could not be established at press time.

The management of an estate in the community passed the information which went viral to alert residents.

The alert urged residents to avoid the Chevron, Agungi, and Ajiran areas.

“This is to notify all residents that Ajiran (Agungi) king’s son was assassinated today along Chevron Drive (close to Ebeano Supermarket) this morning.

“We, therefore, plead to our esteemed residents to avoid Chevron area, Agungi and Ajiran for now for their safety.”

Confirming the incident, spokesperson, Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, said the killing occurred at about 12:30 pm.

“Four armed men driving in a white minibus shot and stabbed him to death.

“The scene had been visited, one expended cartridge was recovered while the corpse had been moved to a morgue, in Ajah, Lagos State for preservation and autopsy.”

Until his death, Akinloye was aged 50.
