CITIZENS COMPASS –Naja’atu Salisu, a 300-level Computer Science student of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi, Bauchi State, was confirmed dead after being unconscious in her hostel’s bathroom.
The incident occurred on Friday morning, July 26, 2024.
Naja’atu had gone to the bathroom in the female hostel at the university’s Gubi campus to take a morning shower and prepare for her lectures. However, she was later discovered lying unconscious on the bathroom floor.
Narrating the incident one of her roommates said “She had completed her usual morning routine and had laid out the clothes she planned to wear to class before going into the bathroom.”
The ATBU spokesperson, Zailani Bappa, confirmed the incident, stating that Naja’atu was rushed to the university’s clinic for immediate medical attention. Unfortunately, the medical personnel were unable to locate a vein.
“She was then taken to the Trauma Centre of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, where she was pronounced dead by medical doctors,” Bappa added.
The university community is mourning the loss of Naja’atu Salisu, a promising student whose life was cut short in such a sudden and tragic manner.
