Council boss presents car to Ayangburen of Ikorodu

CITIZENS COMPASS –The Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Mr Wasiu Ayodeji Adesina, on Friday, presented a car to the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Shotobi, and Oba Ahmed Ogunderu, the Alagura of Agura 2 in Ikorodu.

The cars are for effective service delivery to the community.

While making the presentation, the Council boss said traditional rulers play useful roles in mediating between the people and the state, enhancing national identity, resolving minor conflicts and providing institutional safety-valve for often inadequate state bureaucracies.

The chairman said the cars were presented to ease their movements in attending different meetings inside and outside the community as custodians of tradition and customs.

“The traditional rulers play significant role as stakeholders in decision making and development of communities.
“The official vehicle will ease their movements and improve their service delivery to the people in their community,” he said.

The chairman urged everybody to key into the “Renewed Hope” agenda of President Bola Tinubu, for a better Nigeria and Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the projects he had delivered in the state and Ikorodu in particular.

He urged residents to vote for candidates of All Progressive Congress(APC) in the next local government elections, for delivery of more democratic dividends to Ikorodu residents.

Receiving the car, Oba Ogunderu, Alagura of Agura 2, appreciated the council chairman for the gesture and promised to use the car for effective service delivery to the community.

Alagura, commended the chairman on his acheivement, especially on infrastructure and encouraged him to continue in his drive ensuring that Ikorodu enjoys more dividends of democracy.

The monarch reign blessing on Nigeria, Lagos State, the council boss and all the legislative members representing the Division, urged them on good governance.
