Tinubu falls at June 12 celebration

...Peter Obi reacts

CITIZENS COMPASS – The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, has reportedly fallen during the 2024 Democracy Day celebration at Eagle’s Square in Abuja.

A viral video captured the President falling while attempting to board a parade vehicle neatly parked to convey him.

However, he quickly regained his balance and rose on his feet.

In the video, the President was clad in a regalia when he missed his steps as he was about to access the vehicle.

Citizens Compass reports that the event at Eagles Square was part of a series of events to mark the 2024 Democracy Day celebration.

Meanwhile, the Presidential candidate of Labour party during the 2023 elections said the fall can happen to anyone.

Obi said this via his X Handle saying, “I was saddened to learn of President Tinubu’s unfortunate fall today. I wish him well. We achieve nothing by gloating about an accident that could well happen to any of us.”

“We are all human beings, and while we profoundly disagree on how to move Nigeria forward, we must remember our common human frailty. Let us stay focused on the issues that will lead to a new Nigeria.”

“May this moment serve as a poignant reminder of our shared humanity and the need for compassion, empathy, and unity in our pursuit of a brighter future for our great nation.”
