CITIZENS COMPASS –Operatives of the Nigeria Police, Ogun State Police command, have arrested a commercial motorcyclist popularly known as Okada rider, Afeez Mustapha, for allegedly raping a female passenger in the course of his duties in the State.
Spokesperson of the Command, Omolola Odutola, confirmed this in a statement posted on her X Handle on Friday, May 10, 2024.
According to her, Mustapha was conveying the female passenger to a destination, when he suddenly changed direction by taking another route different from that of the passenger.
Upon getting to a desolate location, he took advantage of the situation and reportedly perpetrated the crime.
She said the suspect had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
The spokesman said the incident occurred on Thursday, May 9, 2024.
“Commercial motorcycle rider arrested for rape on May 9, 2024. One Afeez Mustapha is in SCID for sexual assault of a female passenger, after diverting to a route different from that of the passenger.”
