Senator Gaidam mourns ex-Science and Technology Minister, Ogbonnaya Onu
CITIZENS COMPASS– The Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, has expressed sadness at the death on Wednesday, of former Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, who was also the first civilian governor of Abia State.
Senator Gaidam expressed his grief in a statement he signed himself, and made available to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), describing the deceased as a contributor, whose services to the nation will be remembered.
The Minister wrote:
I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, the former Minister of Science and Technology in Nigeria. His contributions to the country as a politician, author, and engineer will always be remembered.
Dr. Onu’s legacy as the first civilian governor of Abia State and his service as the Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation have left a lasting impact on the nation. His dedication to advancing science and technology in Nigeria has inspired many and his loss will be felt by all who knew him.
My thoughts and prayers are with Dr. Onu’s family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. May they find comfort in the memories of his remarkable life and may his soul rest in peace.
