CITIZENS COMPASS —It was a bad weekend for some passengers and drivers of a transport company, GUO Motors, as their bus was killed and the passengers kidnapped along the Lagos-Benin road.
The incident occurred on Saturday, February 10, 2024.
It was gathered that all the passengers on the bus, except a little girl of about six years, were kidnapped.
Citizens Compass learned that the girl was traveling with her parents, both of whom were kidnapped while the bus driver was shot dead behind the wheel and the bus veered into the bush.
Eyewitnesses’ accounts said the bus took off from Lagos and was probably headed for the South-east.
A passenger of another bus said all of them, including the passengers in the ill-fated bus, stopped and ate in Akure.
An online video captured the girl, a few Policemen, and passengers from other vehicles gathered at the scene.
Some of the passengers said the driver stopped over in Akure for some of the passengers to eat.
The girl told the sympathisers that her parents live in Abuja.
Recently, 14 passengers of two vehicles: a Sienna bus belonging to ABC Transport company, and a bus of God is Good Motors were kidnapped in Kogi State.
The buses were said to have taken off from Umuahia, Abia State, to Abuja.
They later regained their freedom after a week.
