CITIZENS COMPASS —A male accident victim has suffered serious internal injuries during a multiple accident on Anthony-Oke Bridge inward Gbagada in Lagos.
The accident involving a ‘Suzuki’ minibus with a number plate, EKY 299 YC) and other vehicles occurred on Monday, January 22, 2024.
Citizens Compass learned that the mini bus while on top speed was struggling right of way (R.O.W) with other vehicles when the accident occurred.
However, the victim was fortunate to have been rescued by the operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and Lagos State Ambulance Service (LSAMBUS) who jointly rescued him.
LASTMA Spokesman, Adebayo Taofiq, said the rescued accident victim sustained serious internal injuries during a multiple accident that involved 3 vehicles including a minibus.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the driver of a ‘Suzuki’ mini bus (EKY 299 YC) while on top speed struggling right of way (R.O.W) with other vehicles developed brake failure and rammed into two other vehicles (Toyota Corolla GGE 824 JA) and (Toyota Venza KSF 954 HG) on top of Anthony Bridge.
“While LASTMA officials cleared all accidental vehicles off the road and handed them over to Policemen from the Ilupeju Police Division for further investigation, the accident victim was rushed to General Hospital at Ikeja by officials of the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS).
“The General Manager of LASTMA Mr. Bakare-Oki Olalekan however appealed to the motoring public to desist from competing right of way with other vehicles and ensure that the brakes of their vehicles are in good condition before embarking on any journey in or outside the State.”
