Lagos FRSC deploys 1,550 personnel for Eid-El-Kabir
CITIZENS COMPASS – THE Federal Road Safety CORPS (FRSC), Lagos State Command, has deployed 1, 550 officers, marshals and Special Marshals to different areas in the state to ensure safety on Lagos roads.
Lagos FRSC said it also deployed 40 patrol vehicles, eight power bikes, four ambulances, Four private-owned tow trucks, to monitor all roads during the Eid-El-Kabir celebrations in the state.
A statement signed by the Sector Public Education Officer of the Command, Superintendent Route Commander Olabisi Sonusi, on Saturday, June 24, 2023, stated that the Lagos State Sector Commander, Corps Commander Babatunde Farinloye, has deployed personnel for traffic control at strategic locations within the metropolis during the Eid-El-Kabir Celebrations.
“The Sector Commander admonished the motorists to obey traffic rules and regulations and avoid infractions that can lead to Road Traffic Crash and obstruction of traffic flow. He admonished motorists to carry out the necessary maintenance of their vehicles to avoid breakdown. He also emphasized the need for lane discipline on the expressway, especially on Lagos – Ibadan expressway, where construction work is still ongoing.
“To ensure free flow of traffic during this festivity period, the Command will continue to sensitize motorists and step up its early morning safety cry at motor parks and other designated places.
” The command will carry out special patrol operation and traffic control to ease road congestion in the metropolis and all major corridors across the state from 26 June to 1st July 2023.
” While wishing all Muslim fatefuls and Nigerians happy Eid-El-Kabir celebration, he advised motorists to drive with caution.”
