Lady sent to Kirikiri for assaulting police officer
CITIZENS COMPASS – A lady, identified as Ms Olufunmilayo Ilerioluwa, is currently on Kirikiri Correctional Center for assaulting a police officer in Ogombo, Lekki/Epe expressway area of Lagos.
Spokesperson, Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin disclosed this on his verified Twitter handle on the late hours of Tuesday, May 17, 2023.
Hundeyin said the lady assaulted the officer in the course of stop and search operation.
A picture of the incident posted by the spokesperson revealed the lady squeezing the officer’s uniform, “shoving him with all sense of impunity”.
It was learnt that she was arrested and charged before a magistrate’s court sitting in Eti-Osa Local Government Area.
The suspect, who was arraigned before Magistrate Alao M.O pleaded not guilty to the charges filed against her.
The Magistrate granted the plea by the police prosecutor to remand her in prison for 21 days pending investigation.
She was remanded at Kikiri Correctional Centre until June 6, 2023 when the case will come up for trial.
The development came few hours after Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti was arraigned for assaulting a police officer in uniform.
