CITIZENS COMPASS-:Few hours after the Gubernatorial and state assembly elections across Nigeria, a chief from Ilaro area of Ogun State, Engineer Femi Egbeoluwa and his wife have been reportedly assassinated by some yet-to-be be identified assailants.
Neighbours of the couple woke up last Sunday, March 19, 2023, only to find their gorry sights in their apartment at
1 Adefolu drive, Allen Avenue in Lagos.
Their maid was also attacked by the yet-to–identified men.
Lagos State Police Command has begun an investigation into the assassination although details were yet to be unraveled as at Tuesday, March 21, 20223.
On Sunday, neighbours of the deceased have raised alarm through emergency numbers and social media platforms about the assassination and this alerted security operatives and emergency responders to the scene of the incident where the couple were found stoned dead in their apartment.
A police source, who pleaded anonymity, said” The man is a chief from Ilaro in Ogun State .”
He added that ” “We got the report on Saturday. The man and his wife were assassinated, while their maid was also injured.
Spokesperson of the command, Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the incident saying investigation was ongoing.
No arrest made
As at the time of filing this report, Hundeyin said no suspect had been arrested in connection with the incident at the time of filing this repor
Investigation is ongoing. Policemen have visited the scene. The house help was found unconscious but she is responding to treatment now in the hospital
The case has been transferred to the homicide section of the state Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba. SCID,Panti. No suspect yet.
