FORTY persons were reportedly killed while scores of people were injured in an attack carried out by bandits on some villages in Zamfara State.
The affected communities are Wari Tsaune, Gidan Adamu, Gidan Maidawa of Faru, all located in the Maradun Local Government Area of the state.
It was gathered that the attacks left hundreds of others, including women and children, with various degrees of injury.
During the attack, the bandits were said to have stolen cattle and other belongings from the affected communities.
Following the attack, many villagers have fled their communities for fear of the unknown.
“All of us have abandoned and deserted our communities for fear of another attack. We have buried some of our people,” the source said.
Zamfara State has witnessed series of attacks in the past few months.
Zamfara State Government is yet to comment on the incident.
