CITIZENS COMPASS– The Secretary General, NIDO African Continental, Sir Hamzaosa Ode-Idahosa, has proposed promotion of tourism, economic empowerment and Infrastructure development among others to the Edo State Government as a way of generating additional sources of income for the State.
The Secretary General made the proposal in a letter addressed to the State Governor, Monday Okpebholo.
In the letter dated Thursday, January 2, 2025, Ode-Idahosa lauded the Governor for his immense contribution to develop the State.
He lauded the efforts of both traditional and executive leaders in the State urging them to brace up in their bid to taking the State to an amiable height.

His Excellency, The Governor of Edo State, Edo State Government House,
Benin City, Edo State.
Your Excellency,
I wish to extend my warmest greetings to you, the traditional rulers, and the entire people of Edo State, both at home and in the Diaspora, as we celebrate the beginning of a new year.
As we step into 2025, I pray that this year brings us closer to achieving our collective goals and aspirations for our dear state. May it be a year of peace, progress, and prosperity for all Edo people.
I commend your tireless efforts in leading our state towards greatness. Your vision and leadership have been a source of inspiration to many, and I am confident that with your continued guidance, Edo State will reach even greater heights.
To our traditional rulers, I express my deepest respect and appreciation for your role in promoting our rich cultural heritage and preserving the traditions that make us who we are.
And to the youth of Edo State, I urge you to remain committed to the pursuit of excellence and to continue being ambassadors of our great state. Your energy, creativity, and resilience are essential to our collective progress.
As we look to the future, I propose the following:
– Increased investment in education and skills development
– Economic empowerment programmes for youth and women
– Infrastructure development to boost trade and commerce
– Strengthening of institutions to promote good governance and transparency
– Promotion of tourism and cultural heritage
– Support for entrepreneurship and innovation
– Improved healthcare and social services
